Grooverelly fan favorites BIGBABYGUCCI and Hivemind united for one of the craziest music videos I’ve seen in recent time. The BIGBABYGUCCI track Losing Yourself was already a masterpiece in itself but Detroit based videographer group Hivemind took it to the next level and complimented it perfectly.
Where do I even begin? The best songs are always the shortest and that’s been about 99% true and it’s completely true for this BIGBABYGUCCI track. The production will take you on a nostalgic trip with a video game esque melody and wavy synths, courtesy of Fish.
As mentioned previously, the production will take you on a nostalgic trip but to compliment that, Hivemind digs deep down into retro scene. With references from Sonic The Hedgehog, you can see the infamous Chaos Emeralds make a cameo whilst spinning around BIGBABYGUCCI. Following up with that faint scene, you can see BIGBABYGUCCI sliding on a rail in which references to video game Sonic Adventures 2, where rail grinding was introduced to reach new areas.
It’s without a doubt that this is one of my favorite music videos of the year. The bouncy production along with BIGBABYGUCCI’s versatility makes for an amazing track. Can’t go without saying that Hivemind came in and changed the game with the visuals, creating a music video with an innovative thought process. I hope we can see more work with both of these incredibly talented creatives soon!
