Lifelessgarments brings it with ‘das kuul’

So I was perusing SoundCloud blasting Playboi Carti leaks(as one does), and this song ‘das kuul,’ started playing on my monitors at 2am from an artist I’ve never heard of. In the current landscape of trap music, dark rage beats are all the ‘rage,’ especially as Destroy Lonely and Ken Carson begin to take center stage in the mainstream rap industry. This beat produced by 16teen and insanto falls into that category; with a carefully crafted thick wall of sound that can get any party started. The mix is balanced, with every element of the track given its own space to shine, from the clipped 808 to the razor-sharp drums. However it’s how lifeless garments made it his own that was really set the song apart from the rest of the pack.

The track opens with an aggressively distorted/clipped 808 and the main sawtooth synth that rides throughout the song. This intro sets the tone for the rest of the song, that tone being a vibe-y sub heavy dark rage with a mixture of emo and trap vocals. Lifelessgarments’ unique vocal style is the perfect match for the in-your-face production, with one of my favorite lyrics from the song being ‘I CEO’d myself to see what cash do.’

In conclusion, “Das Kuul” is a must-listen for fans of aggressive trap music and for those who enjoy artists like Playboi Carti and Destroy Lonely. With its powerful production and in-your-face vocals, this track is sure to leave a lasting impression, and maybe blow out a subwoofer or two.
