When you think of a banger titled “Toxic” you might recall Britney Spears’ 2003 smash hit. Present day, that is no longer the case thanks to a new, freshly dropped April 2021 banger! “Global Dan,” a chorus heavy rap star straight out of Silver Spring, Maryland turns the concept of toxic to a very blissful drink-based direction. Over a twisting digital jack-in-the-box type beat executive produced by cake throwing producer Steve Aoki, Global Dan graces us with an angelic vocal performance. His lyrical content includes references to luxury items, Danny Phantom, benchmarks in his self-made path to fame and how he has the “antidote.” His legendary voice can only be imagined by mixing Lil Uzi Vert’s ever-changing flow in verses and Post Malone’s memorable vocals that slay any chorus.
Verse two hits us with a brand-new artist in the Global Family – “Global Dell.” His delivery compliments the track by adding vocal and lyrical depth. Global Dell’s R&B vibes are similar to August Alsina with bars that sing like The Kid LAROI. Uniquely enough, Dell dropped his first solo single on the same day titled “Up Now” that is also worth a listen.
Everything about this track just comes together in perfect harmony. The cover art by No Paradigms has two teddy bears made of clay in a chemical laboratory. One bear seems to have a mutation as he holds a glowing green test tube, a glossy globe is cleverly placed to reference the two Global Artists. Ultimately, Global Dan doesn’t just simply make music, he is behind a movement that involves a diverse team of his talented friends. In 2021 he has already dropped catchy creations by the titles “Too Friendly” and “Had Me At Goodbye” that are worth a playlist addition as well. More bangers are surely on the way… #staytuned
