Does DC The Don have what it takes to take over 2021? “Rag3 Kidd” [Official Music Video]

Has DC The Don made a comeback as soon as 2021 started? My first initial favorite track that made me curious about DC The Don was a song by the name of “KILL STREAK” now this track alone caught my attention due to the beat of course, as a music consumer I really try to analyze the song in and out from the beat, vocals, and vocal mixing since nowadays most independent artists are mixing and mastering their own music.

The beat gave me much more than a hype vibe but DC knows how to trick a beat instead of competing with the same flow, same cadence the production would expect you to feel. The main reason why I had the initial thought on covering DC, I came across a recent visual called “Rag3 Kidd” being released on Feb 5th 2021 Rag3 Kidd has amassed over 400k views alone on Youtube as far as Soundcloud goes it’s made quite the push with a total of 1.3 million streams being 3 months fresh. Now this has me wondering… is DC The Don completely overrated?

His cadence people would say to be similar to “Trippie Redd” and YNW Melly, don’t let DC fool you! with the production from “Trademark” this alternative pop/trap beat really compliments DC’s vocal delivery from catchy hooks to a well thought out verse.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin DC uploaded his first song on Soundcloud called “Everything 1k” March 2017. If you’re familiar with the “Ball Brothers” [LaMelo and Lonzo Ball] DC and the Ball Brothers were former teammates in the past. DC was even featured on the Big Baller Brands first ever sneaker commercial.

What’s next for DC..?

With recent snippets via Instagram stories DC is either planning on releasing another visual directed by “713bran” followed by either another body of work or singles within the next few weeks. I’m really excited to see what’s next for DC he’s really been showing capability of taking over 2021.
