Fresh off of being selected for Soundcloud’s new artist accelerator program, “F.O.S.” this year, all eyes remain on Atlanta-based rapper “SoFaygo” with his latest visual premiere, directed by Cole Bennett. SoFaygo was born October 3, 2001, and he has recently joined Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack record label. Just recently, at 5:30pm EST on May 3, he premiered the long-awaited music video for his viral hit song, “Knock Knock.” The video was uploaded on Lyrical Lemonade, a reputable YouTube channel for any underground artist to appear on. SoFaygo can be seen in the music video in a black and white striped suit, performing in a house with checkered tiles and jagged staircases. The visuals seem to reference director Tim Burton’s signature blend of horror and fantasy themes (We wouldn’t be surprised if SoFaygo has seen Beetlejuice!). SoFaygo also performs with clones of himself and finds himself shrunken to fit in a diorama. The song’s producer, Lil Tecca, makes several cameos throughout the video, helping SoFaygo rejoice due to the song’s success. The artistic chemistry between these two in the studio is undeniable. The mainstream industry should think twice about closing the door on SoFaygo, because there is no more knocking. He is “(going to) kick (the door) down.” Watch the video below and comment your thoughts! |
