Kenny Mason & Coupe live pricey in this entertaining new music video.
Atlanta’s Kenny Mason is one of my favorite emcees right now. His attention to detail is impeccable and lyrical ability is beyond the Kendrick-like-box that he initially became grouped within. But, like K. Dot, every drop commands your full attention. Also Kenny carries the ability to massively conceptualize ideas in a masterful way that invites listeners to whatever world is created through his music. You know, the type of raps that feel like he’s speaking right to you, or like you’re right there inside of the booth with him.
As serious as he takes his penmanship, it’s also clear that Mr. Mason loves to have fun, and this week he introduced a new visual that conveys him enjoying the fruits of his labor in the most extravagant of ways. On “RICH”, he weaves over a bouncy beat backed by a light-hearted vocal sample; the pristine production courtesy of Coupe. Coupe’s presence has been heavily felt across the airways over the past year on drops from Kenny Mason, Tony Shhnow and on a few of Young Nudy’s projects, including the acclaimed GUMBO album (which contains the hit “Peaches & Eggplants” featuring 21 Savage). The producer makes an appearance in the clip with Kenny as well.
