L0veaca brought his A-game when we covered him last and this time is no different. “Drain Gang” is an anthemic rager modeled after Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, and Bladee. This song features production from frankkeys and jackzorana, two prominent underground producers who have produced for the likes of Lil Surf, Yeat, and SEBii. “Drain Gang” follows in the footprints of the dark hyperpop rage wave that has taken over both underground and mainstream rap. When I spoke to L0veaca on the release of “Drain Gang,” he had this to say.
“This is me stepping into the race with the big dogs to show my sound and authenticity can still pierce the industry by transcending the original sound on LSD this new album ABRAXAS will take listeners somewhere they haven’t been before.”
This song reminds me heavily of Destroy Lonely and his tendency to produce dark vocals over aggressive and melodic hyperpop beats. L0veaca is on ABRAXAS time, and his return to LA coincides with his rollout schedule for this project; we should all wait with baited breathe for what LA’s newest rockstar has in store this summer.
