The word “longevity” comes to mind when I think of the Memphis musician Juicy J. Immediately following is a thought of the now universally vested phrase “SHUTDAFUKUP!”. From what the self proclaimed “Rap Game Tom Brady” has done individually to the empire he created in Three 6 Mafia, Juicy J‘s legacy in the rap game has long been cemented. Now with over 30 years in the game Juicy J seems more motivated and happier than ever, gearing up for the release of the deluxe version of The Hustle Still Continues. The project is set to be available on June 25th, with 9 additional tracks and features from Lil Baby, A$AP Rocky, Kaash Paige and more.
The music video for “TAKE IT” featuring Rico Nasty acts as a teaser for the album’s deluxe version, and serves as a memorable merge of two generations of hip-hip. As a fan, I love to see veterans who are still active in the game embrace the hottest emcees out at the moment. Rico is even given a longer verse on this one, and uses it to fit herself right into Juicy J‘s world.
